Having chosen to leave pattern cutting out of my final year concept, the project took on a much more business based path, and I embraced the idea of a multimedia company. Whilst designing promotional concepts for artists in the music industry I designed, produced and edited a promotional video, photo shoot and website as a part of the project. The aim for the website was to not only design the layout and features but to also produce all of the content. Therefore every photo, video, blog etc was made solely for use on the LCW website by myself. A detailed business plan, cost analysis and pricing were also major parts in turning the company into a working model ready for launch.

Her style of designing however versatile is mix of urban and luxury fashion. She is equally skilled in freehand drawing, patterned cutting, presentation & event planning and writing. Her Graduate collection âSri Lanka: A History of Costumeâ was inspired by the way the Island dressed before and after colonisation together with costumes from a Buddhist parade called âThe Peraharaâ, exploring the idea of bringing western influence to modern day clothing. A self reliant and fast learner Thisakya is keen to broaden her knowledge of the fashion industry before she starts her own fashion brand. She intends to work for a womenâs wear fashion house taking on many other roles including design such as fashion PR and marketing. Moving away from the cult of fast fashion and into an era of longevity and use. Launching for Autumn/ Winter 12/13 Boxed seeks to supply for the consumer who is interested in a garments entire life, and now just the moment for which they have it. Seeking inspiration from the design ethos' and way of life in Scandinavia, Boxed will be sharing their ideas of creating a balance and 'give take' relationship with nature. This idea is something that has heavily influenced much of the modern architecture in the region, and similarly will be interpreted to create a balance between the wearer, the garment and the environments he encounters daily. Leaving fast fashion behind and moving towards a desire for longevity, Boxed sees no need in creating garments for the sake of trend or fad. Each piece has been designed with a requirement to last and fulfil it's purpose. The entire collection has been thought out to seamlessly cover every area of the wearer life, and take them through their daily motions. Modular in a sense, as each piece can be added to, taken away from or adjusted depending of the need and purpose.

I'm not someone that doesn't like to take risks with her work, I work with different materials to have a different outcome, I try to use different materials in every garments or every project. My inspiration comes from shapes, I prefer to do my research about what has already happened in fashion and I try to bring together the classic and modern to have a new outcome. My latest inspiration designer would have to be Ann Demeulemeester, simply because she makes garments that she would personally wear.
